About Munich

Munich is Lufthansa's second hub and a smaller, easier-to-navigate alternative to Frankfurt for European connections. Lufthansa runs 4-5 weekly TBS-MUC rotations year-round, with summer surge to 6-7. Compared to FRA, Munich Airport is more compact - walking distances are 15-20 minutes between gates vs 45 at FRA, and Schengen connections need only 45 minutes minimum. The downside is fewer onward long-haul options, especially to the US (FRA has more transatlantic frequency). For Georgian travelers heading to South Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or Italy, MUC is the better hub because of geography. For travelers heading to the UK, France, or Scandinavia, FRA offers more direct frequencies.

Peak: December (Christmas markets, ski connections) + Oktoberfest weeks in September-October.
