Flights to Athens

About Athens

Athens is the most direct Greek capital connection from Georgia. Aegean Airlines (member of Star Alliance) flies Tbilisi-Athens 3-4 times weekly, and Wizz Air runs Kutaisi-Athens 2-3 times weekly at lower base fares. From Athens, onward connections cover the entire Greek island network (Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, Rhodes) typically via Aegean or low-cost SKY Express. The Aegean product is full-service with meals and 23kg baggage on most fare classes; Wizz Air unbundles everything and saves you 60-100 GEL if you travel light. Athens itself is more than a layover - the Acropolis, Plaka, and the new National Archaeological Museum exhibits draw a growing share of Georgian leisure travelers, especially during the May-June and September-October shoulder seasons when Mediterranean weather is at its best.

Shoulder seasons (May-June, September-October) are ideal. Avoid August - hottest + most expensive.
